You are required to attend on either Monday 15th July or Thursday 18th July\, starting at 7.30pm until 9.00pm. \n\n\n\nThis clinic will serve as a Refresher Clinic for PCQ Instructors\, and NCAS coaches can obtain Update points towards maintaining their accreditation. It will be a Preparation Clinic for PCQ Coach Levels E\, D\, D* & C\, and NCAS Preliminary\, Junior Coaches\, & Interested Members aged 16yrs and over.On Saturday 20th July\, the second part of the Clinic at a venue to be announced will have various practical sessions\, including flatwork & showjump coaching\, plus teaching horsemanship & groundwork.Demonstration riders will be required. DESCRIPTION:Assessment Details\n\n\n\nPlease note that members do not have to be coaches to gain this Gear Checker accreditation. This assessment is for those members who are ready to be assessed having fulfilled the pre-requisites for the PCA Gear Checker Certificate. \n\n\n\nIf you are running an event in 2024\, it is highly advised that your Club has at least 2 accredited gear checkers on the event team that will be present on the day. It is also recommended that all Chief Instructors become accredited. \n\n\n\nThe PCA Gear Check Accreditation aims to provide knowledge and set standards of the gear check procedure for those carrying out gear checks at Pony Club®. Carrying out a comprehensive and standardised gear check is part of PCA’s risk management and compliance system. Successful applicants will receive a Gear Checker Certificate. \n\n\n\nPRE-REQUISITES \n\n\n\nCandidates for the gear checker certificate must: \n\n\n\n• Be a current member of Pony Club Australia \n\n\n\n• Meet the requirements for Working with Children in the relevant Australian State/Territory \n\n\n\n• Be at least 16 years to receive the accreditation \n\n\n\n• Have attended and observed gear check procedure at two separate rally\, muster or Pony Club® run events\, prior to assessment\, and \n\n\n\n• Have been supervised performing gear check procedure on two separate occasions at rally\, muster or Pony Club® run events\, prior to assessment.. \n\n\n\nASSESSMENT \n\n\n\nAssessment will include: \n\n\n\n• A practical gear check before a qualified assessor. \n\n\n\n• Completing an open book Gear Checker Written Exam on gear/ uniform rules. This must be completed by Wednesday 10th April. Find the Exam on the PCA website\, click on Coaches/ Coach Education\, and scroll down to find the Gear Checker Accreditation section. For the “assessor’s email”\, please use erikawoodland@bigpond.com. Use both the latest version of the PCA Gear Checker Manual and PCA National Gear Rules as it is “open book”. • Attending the practical Gear Check Assessment on 20th April before a qualified assessor \n\n\n\n\n\nRequirements:\n\n\n\nAny pony club with members attending for Gear Checker Assessment must provide 2 riders & horses from their club\, from 8.00 – 10.00am. \n\n\n\nTo prepare for Assessment\, members should go to the PCA website\, click on Coaches/ Coach Education. Its most Important to read through both the Gear Checker Manual and the National Gear Rules. \n\n\n\nThere will also be a Gear Check Zoom Night\, held on Monday 8th April\, 2 weeks before the practical assessment\, to assist members in their preparation including an overview of recent gear updates.
